Nevada City Council approves fee schedules, service agreements and railroad crossing safety improvements

What passed: the council approved Bill No. 2025-053, authorizing a Public Services agreement with the Nevada/Vernon County Chamber of Commerce for tourism operations; Bill No. 2025-054, establishing a fee schedule for the Franklin P. Norman Community Center; Bill No. 2025-055, establishing fees for the Twin Lakes Sports Complex and Walton Courts; Bill No. 2025-056, setting fees for the Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Course; and Bill No. 2025-057, establishing fees for Nevada Municipal Airport hangar and land leases. The council also approved Bill No. 2025-058 (a services agreement with Nevada Mo Main Street Alliance, Inc.), Bill No. 2025-059 (an agreement with the Vernon County Historical Society, Inc. for use of excess real property) and Bill No. 2025-060 (an intergovernmental agreement with Vernon County for economic development consulting services).
The council adopted Bill No. 2026-001, an emergency ordinance approving an agreement for safety improvements at the Highland Street railroad crossing. The minutes record the measure was placed on first read then moved to a second reading and passed by unanimous roll call.
