"We want to turn this in by October 31, which is the deadline that the state imposes," Mayor Lilly said.
Council President Noble questioned the last audit’s presentation language, saying the prior audit cover stated it had been presented to the mayor and council when that had not occurred; Noble urged that the firm present audit results to the council before sending them to the state. Council members also asked whether the engagement letter explicitly commits the auditor to such a presentation; the mayor said staff will review the engagement scope and return with suggested contract language and scope changes at the next meeting.
Because this was the resolution’s first appearance on the agenda, council did not vote; staff will return with revisions and clarifications before the engagement is finalized.
