Forest Heights council reappoints Monica Lawson to ethics commission for one-year term

The Town of Forest Heights mayor and council unanimously adopted Resolution 23-26 on a motion by Mayor Lilly to reappoint Miss Monica Lawson to the ethics commission for a one-year term.
The resolution, introduced by Mayor Lilly, says the reappointment is intended to maintain stability and retain Lawson’s background knowledge of the commission’s process. “This is Miss Monica Lawson, a long time resident in the town of Forest Heights,” Mayor Lilly said, adding that Lawson is being reappointed for a one-year term.
Council President Noble asked when the other commissioners’ terms expire; the clerk confirmed one member, Miss Lyda, also serves a one-year term and the third member is Miss Tashi Brown. The clerk said Brown is departing the town and will need to submit a resignation letter before staff can formally fill the vacancy. Council member Brownson asked about how the town advertises openings and said a resident who previously submitted a resume had not heard back; the mayor and clerk said the town keeps prior applications on file and contacts applicants when a vacancy arises.
With no further discussion, the clerk called the roll and recorded unanimous support for the resolution. The measure carries immediately; staff will follow up on filling the open ethics commission seat.
