The Village of Waldo Board of Trustees on March 9, 2026 approved two ordinances: Ordinance 2026-02, creating Article IX — Occupancy Permits in Chapter 67 (Building Construction), and Ordinance 2026-03, updating Chapter 146, Article III (Recycling) to incorporate language required by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
Clerk/Treasurer Lisa Gillette told the board the occupancy-permit ordinance is intended to ensure buildings are occupied only after appropriate review to protect public health, safety and welfare and to provide a consistent, defensible process. On recycling, Gillette said the DNR revised Chapter NR 544 and directed Responsible Units to adopt updated ordinances incorporating the required language by April 30, 2026.
Both motions carried after routine consideration; trustees did not record further amendments or conditions in the meeting minutes. The ordinances were approved at the March 9 meeting and will be subject to any standard implementation steps required by village code.
