Lindenwold Council approves annual appointments, consent agenda; Randolph-Sharpe chosen council president

The Borough of Lindenwold’s council approved a slate of annual appointments and routine policies at its Jan. 7 reorganization meeting and elected Councilwoman Cheryle Randolph-Sharpe as council president.
In a single motion, the council adopted Resolutions 2026:02 through 2026:66, a package that ranged from procedural rules (order of business, meeting times and Robert’s Rules of Order) to appointments including borough engineer, bond counsel (Parker McCay), auditor, prosecutor and public defender. Council also approved operational policies such as purchasing authority, video recording policy and a temporary budget. Council President Cheryle Randolph-Sharpe moved the consent agenda; Councilwoman Linda Hess seconded. The motion carried with all votes in favor except Councilwoman Jacquelyn Dixon, who abstained on Resolution 2026:60 (Anthony Dixon Day). The consent package was recorded as Resolutions 2026:02–2026:66.
Council also voted to appoint David Capozzi as municipal solicitor (Resolution 2026:01). That motion was made by Randolph-Sharpe and seconded by Hess and was approved unanimously.
The meeting included brief ceremonial remarks and introductions of officials. Assemblyman Bill Mullen and County Clerk Pamela Lampitt presided over oaths of office for newly seated council members. Council members used the open-council period to offer New Year’s greetings and to thank staff and county partners. Councilwoman Jacquelyn Dixon used her remarks to reiterate her campaign slogan, "Better Together." Borough Administrator Dawn S. Thompson reminded residents about an upcoming Motor Vehicle Commission mobile unit event and encouraged registration.
The council’s routine approvals set the borough’s administrative and procedural framework for 2026 and establish the list of vendors, liaisons and appointments that will guide the borough’s operations through the year. The council also confirmed internal liaisons and committee appointments as part of the package.
