Wayne County proclaims Dairy and Ice Cream Months; Dairy Court promotes local industry and school milk policy

The Dairy Court members each read prepared facts about the local dairy industry and spoke about dairy's economic and cultural roles in Wayne County. They referenced the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act and urged attention to dairy-related education and promotion in schools and the community. Commissioner Brian W. Smith thanked the group for spreading the message about the importance of dairy; Commissioner Jocelyn Cramer thanked parents for their involvement and Commissioner James Shook noted the commissioners looked forward to the ice cream sundae-making competition planned after the meeting.
The board voted unanimously to adopt the 2026 Dairy and Ice Cream Months in Wayne County Proclamation.
