Staff discussed a water‑meter connection at a high school that was initially quoted at $65,000; one staff member later told the committee that negotiations reduced the cost (the transcript records staff saying they "got it down to 12") and that the work is complete. Facilities also said the elevator at a two‑story elementary school is likely to be finished by summer, and that alternative accommodations are in place for students who need first‑floor access during repairs.
Board members raised thermostat communication problems between the building graphics interface and field thermostats; facilities said they are performing in‑house fixes and coordinating with the software vendor. The board also discussed a playground grant submitted for Pine Beach Elementary in partnership with the mayor’s office.
