The board approved a series of administrative motions during the April 14 meeting. Alderman Josh Elliott moved — and Alderman Julie McClure seconded — a motion to charge USA Solutions $75 per residence for potholes the city must refill; the motion carried. The board also voted not to hold a spring dumpster behind City Hall and tabled a decision on new mulch in front of City Hall to solicit additional landscaping bids.
Training and travel approvals included a motion to send City Clerk Carol Stevens, Mayor Jacob DeMint, Alderman Jackie Hall and possibly Alderman Robert Brown to city official training on May 8 at a cost of $35 per person, which carried. The board approved sending the City Clerk to a clerk workshop in Columbia May 20–21 at a cost of $295.
Planning and Zoning permits were approved for Kaed Kallenberger and Aaron Brooke. A permit for Alderman Josh Elliott was approved with Alderman Elliott recorded as abstaining; the minutes show the motion carried 3–1. The board also authorized soliciting bids for new lighting in Heritage Hall and asked staff to research possible Evergy grant funding for the project.
With no further business the board moved into closed session and adjourned at approximately 6:50 p.m.
