Alma services committee to propose cemetery rules; new fire tender to arrive and snow disposal site set
Summary

Services Committee Chair Loren Mueller reviewed committee minutes and said the committee will present a new cemetery ordinance listing rules including prohibitions on food, drinks and fires. Mueller said a cemetery support group contributed suggestions to the draft ordinance.
Mueller reported Dairyland Power land will be marked soon so snow can be hauled there rather than to Rieck’s Lake Park. He also said the new fire tender truck will arrive Wednesday and the fire department plans to list the old tender on the Wisconsin Surplus auction site.
Councilor Gary Jepsen requested a correction to the committee minutes clarifying language about feeding of wild animals; the council approved the Services committee report as amended.
What happens next: The Services committee will bring a formal cemetery ordinance for council consideration at a future meeting; staff will mark snow-disposal boundaries and process the surplus listing for the outgoing fire tender.
