Norborne hears public‑works update; CDBG demolition grant and water‑plant repairs discussed

Public Works Supervisor Joey Bates reported street patching work has been completed, the recycling center is being readied for totes, valve spacers are being acquired to support a new valve, and the lime feeder motor at the water plant needs replacement. Bates also reported the city tractor remains at a repair shop and has not yet been inspected by a mechanic.
Mayor Jacob DeMint also told the board demolition on 2nd Street is expected to begin toward the end of the month and updated the council on a picnic‑table grant application and Park Board fundraising plans. The board did not take final action on the demolition item during this meeting; Martin’s grant application was entered into the record during public comment.
