The Common Council authorized the Mayor to sign contract documents for the Lift Station #4 project and approved a new leak policy for sewer-bill adjustments.
Utilities Committee Chair Larry Grisen said the committee approved the contract documents for Lift Station #4; the authorization was passed by motion (Mueller moved; Earney seconded) and approved by roll call. Grisen described a new leak policy under which customers who request a reduction for the sewer portion of their bill due to an unforeseen leak will complete a form and the committee will consider reductions under the policy’s guidelines.
Grisen also said an ordinance requiring sewer laterals for each dwelling in the R2 district is forthcoming, and that a survey is being conducted on North 2nd Street to determine rights-of-way for a retaining wall on the east side of the street. The Utilities committee report was approved by council motion and roll call vote.
What happens next: Staff will finalize contract documents for Lift Station #4, implement the leak-appeal form and review process, and prepare the sewer-lateral ordinance for future committee consideration.
