The Norborne Board of Aldermen on May 12 approved a set of routine governance items including mayoral appointments, planning permits and several small budget decisions.
Alderman Julie McClure moved and the board carried acceptance of Mayor Jacob DeMint's appointments of Taelor McNelly and Marlene Frazee to the Library Board. The board also approved four Planning & Zoning permits for applicants Hamm, Cunningham, Naslund and Brizendine; each permit motion was moved and seconded as recorded and "motion carried" appears in the minutes.
On financial items, Alderman Josh Elliott moved to keep both maturing certificates of deposit at their current banks for an additional six months provided Goppert Financial Bank matches Home Savings and Loan's 3.75% rate; Alderman Julie McClure seconded and the motion carried. The minutes record a separate vote to approve the April 2026 Finance and Treasurer's Report.
The board approved a $200 expenditure for food or donation to support an upcoming Municipal Steering Committee meeting in Carrollton. Separately, Alderman Jackie Hall won a 3-1 board vote to purchase enough bags of mulch to fill bare spots in front of Heritage and City Hall; Alderman Josh Elliott opposed that motion.
Minutes do not include detailed permit conditions, the full library-board appointment resumes, or precise CD account identifiers.
