Committee forwards 2026 major asphalt patching contract for Weyerhaeuser Way repairs

The committee voted to forward a recommendation to award the 2026 major asphalt patching contract to the lowest responsive bidder, PacWest Paving LLC (doing business as Tony Lynn Paving). Desiree Winkler said the work will address major patching needs, largely on Weyerhaeuser Way south of Highway 18.
Winkler reported five bids were received; the lowest responsive bid for construction was $161,215 with a proposed contingency of $23,785 for a total project authorization of $185,000. Funding proposed includes $173,853 from street vacation proceeds with the balance from the city's Street 101 fund.
The committee forwarded the award to the July 21 consent agenda for council approval; staff noted a correction to the consent agenda date in the motion text and said work will proceed after council authorization and contract execution.
