Federal Way committee backs sending SEPA comment letter to Port on SEA Airport master plan

He said the draft asks for specifics on the 31 projects in the plan — including 19 gates and terminal work — and flags possible noise and health impacts for nearby residents.
Vadino said the city's advocacy helped extend the public comment period to 60 days and noted the city will continue to press for detailed technical responses and for science-based mitigation. The committee voted to forward the response letter to the July 7 consent agenda for approval and discussed briefing approaches for the Port's open meeting the following day.
What happens next: the council will consider the response letter at consent; staff and councilmembers plan to participate in Port meetings and follow SEPA timelines to press for technical clarifications on runway elevation, noise contours and neighborhood impacts.
