They told the commissioners that some buildings appear beyond repair and are not as historically significant as other structures on the site. The Historical Society membership intends to remove three buildings identified in the minutes as the Davis House, Grandpa’s Shed and the Barber Shop and would like to erect a climate‑controlled structure to house more of the society’s collections.
Noyd and Morgan said the society would need to raise funds and research available grants to finance the project; the minutes note that donations and tax dollars currently support maintenance. The board received the update; the minutes do not record a vote or formal direction on the museum request.
