A councilmember moved and the council seconded to accept the staff recommendations and to proceed with interviews/references and annual review. The selected brokerage relationship would be for up to three years with annual termination options and a two‑year extension option; premiums and specific coverage levels will be determined later by the chosen broker and by the council when plans are presented prior to the January renewal date.
Council emphasized timeliness, references and the ability to answer questions promptly as key selection criteria. Staff will return with more detailed proposals and plan comparisons before any final contract award.
