DEP inspection scheduled for Lynnville Barn; township says demolition will follow if owner doesn't comply

Lynn Township Building Code Official Ryan Wessner told the Board on Oct. 10 that the Commonwealth's Department of Environmental Protection will inspect the Lynnville Barn site on Oct. 21 and that township enforcement would follow the DEP inspection.
Wessner said a letter had been drafted by township officials and that the barn would be demolished after DEP's site inspection. He added that if owner John Brooks does not comply with demolition requirements, Brooks would be issued a citation to be handled in court.
Solicitor Marc Fisher and township staff previously met with property stakeholders and prepared documentation for DEP review. No timetable for demolition was given beyond the DEP inspection and standard enforcement procedures.
Public commenter Mike Kobordo thanked Wessner for continued work on the site; the board did not record any formal appeal or legal challenge at the meeting. The board's minutes record the DEP site visit scheduled for Oct. 21 and the drafted enforcement letter as the primary next steps.
