Lynn Township introduces community‑solar and nuisance ordinances; nuisance draft to be revised

Solicitor Marc Fisher announced Ordinance 2025‑01, "an ordinance . . . to provide for community solar energy systems, establishing definitions and setting forth regulations for the installation, construction and operation" of principal solar energy systems, and said the ordinance was sent to the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission for review.
Draft Ordinance 2025‑02, described in the minutes as an amendment "to prohibit nuisances, to provide notification to the owner(s) of properties with nuisances, and to establish penalties for violations," was reviewed by BCO Ryan Wessner and Zoning Officer Jim Macort. Vice Chairman Frederick (Fritz) Najarian raised several concerns that the minutes say will be reflected in a revised draft prepared by Solicitor Marc Fisher.
No ordinance votes were taken at the meeting; both items remain at the referral/revision stage. The board did not adopt the ordinances but took steps to move them through review and editing.
What happens next: Marc Fisher will draft revisions to Ordinance 2025‑02 to address the board's concerns; Ordinance 2025‑01 will await the LVPC review before further action.
