Representatives of local fire companies provided updates at the Aug. 8 Lynn Township Board meeting.
Heather Utt, president of the Lynn fire company (LPFC), reported 51 fire calls for the year and noted an ongoing FF1 class that will continue through September; she also announced hoagie-order deadlines and upcoming fundraisers, including the 8th annual cash bingo and an all-you-can-eat breakfast on Sept. 15. Nick Gruber, assistant chief of the North Temple Fire Company, reported 120 emergency calls year-to-date, several firefighters pursuing pro-board certifications and one firefighter who completed a Fire Officer 4 certification. Gruber said NTFC will display apparatus at the Annual Night in the Country event on Aug. 17 and sell Fall Bash tickets as available; he thanked the township road crew for roller use during recent lot maintenance.
The reports were informational and no board action was required.
