District technology, printing and eFax changes said to cut costs; cybersecurity work underway

The liaison also said the district is migrating to a HIPAA-compliant eFax solution and expects to save about $3,800 annually by reducing service costs.
On cybersecurity, the technology department is testing an endpoint protection solution with real-time threat detection and automated response and plans districtwide anti-phishing training for staff this school year. The board asked who will run staff training; administration said online platforms and vendor training resources will be used for rollout and that technology staff will oversee implementation.
The board also discussed substitute-teacher recruitment; district staff have posted openings with area colleges and are monitoring short-term driver and substitute coverage on specific routes. The board said it will continue to track bus-driver transitions and substitute availability.
