Weaver said public works installed library benches and noted the department needs additional training for new equipment and staff. He also said the county received a roughly $1,700 grant earmarked for microchipping animals and that donated dog food was delivered to the animal shelter.
Planning & Zoning staff submitted draft changes to the conditional‑use permit (CUP) process for the commission's review; the package would alter when a CUP is required for mobile, modular and site‑built homes in certain lot sizes inside former city limits and add procedural clarifications including notification and permitting requirements. County Manager Weaver said he would forward the draft to the county attorney for review before further action.
Staff outlined several items for the May 6 regular meeting packet: bids and questions on Friendship Road engineering, a proclamation to honor Milton "Wade" Coleman, board vacancies outreach, bank‑account housekeeping to move funds from a dormant account (Bank of Ozark), and quotes for a batwing tractor (Carson Brothers and John Deere). The county manager also recommended a $2 monthly increase to the trash fee to help cover rising solid‑waste costs; the board asked for the proposal to be placed on a future work session for more detailed discussion.
The work session moved to executive session to discuss personnel; the minutes include an affidavit describing the executive session topics and confirm no votes were taken during the closed portion.
