Chattahoochee County to seek up to $1M in CDBG funds, commits $47,500 local match

Separately, the commission approved a resolution committing $47,500 from county funds to be used as match and leverage for the FY2025 CDBG community facilities application; that action was recorded as contingent on receipt of the requested grant funds.
The county also signed a letter of agreement with the River Valley Regional Commission for application preparation services. Under that agreement, the regional commission will prepare the DCA application and perform related tasks such as data collection, preliminary historic and environmental assessments, public hearings, and cost estimating. The River Valley Regional Commission will charge an application preparation fee for local government participation: $750 for a new application and $500 for a rewrite, according to the letter of agreement recorded in the meeting packet.
County officials said the River Valley Regional Commission will survey target areas and assist with necessary application elements; if an award is made, the regional commission and the county will sign a separate contract for grant implementation and management.
Chairman Charles Coffey was authorized to file the application and to provide any documentation required by the Georgia DCA. Commissioners did not specify the precise community facilities that would be funded; that detail will be determined during application development and is not specified in the meeting record.
