At its Jan. 7 meeting the Unified Government of Cusseta–Chattahoochee County approved several vendor and professional-service items the county says are needed for maintenance and grant readiness.
The board unanimously approved renewal of planning and zoning technical assistance with the River Valley Regional Commission. Rick Morris attended to explain the RFQ scoring and the CDBG application process; the minutes record that five firms applied and Ingram Engineering received the highest score (67) versus the next highest score of 62. On that basis the commission approved Ingram to serve as the CDBG engineer and also approved a letter of agreement to the River Valley Regional Commission to support CDBG application development and project management if a grant is awarded.
The commission voted to accept Archie's quote of $26,670 to replace two 15-ton rooftop units on the McNaughton Street building; the minutes record a competing quote from Fire & Ice at $27,500 and state that funding will come from SPLOST. The minutes list the replacement cost roughly as $27,000 per unit and indicate the one quoted unit is 15 tons.
The board also approved a motion to increase attorney rates; the meeting materials include an engagement letter from Clark Hill (A. Binford Minter) describing the firm’s scope as county attorney under the UGOCCC charter and listing hourly rates. The engagement letter is dated Dec. 3, 2024, and states a standard hourly rate (the letter lists $325/hour for the signing attorney and a range of firm rates). The minutes record the attorney-rate motion passed unanimously.
Other routine agenda items approved included acceptance of quotes, motions to proceed with procurement steps for engineering and agreements to pursue CDBG application assistance. The commission recessed into executive session to discuss legal issues and reconvened before adjourning.
Details recorded in the minutes and in included documents should guide any contract execution or billing questions; the official engagement terms with Clark Hill appear in the meeting packet and specify payment terms, conflict-of-interest provisions and other standard terms.
