Mashpee Women’s Club moves fashion show to Thursday, June 18; announces five $2,500 scholarships

Barbara, host of the Mashpee Women’s Club luncheon, announced that the club’s annual fashion show — its largest fundraising event supporting scholarships — will move this year from its usual Tuesday to Thursday, June 18 to avoid scheduling conflicts at the country club and ease parking concerns.

She said the club will continue a benefactors program for the fashion show (tiered donation levels) and confirmed that this year the club will award five scholarships to Mashpee High School graduates, each valued at $2,500. "We are keeping the ticket price for the fashion show at the same as it's been over the last several years," she said, adding that the scholarship committee was finalizing award recipients.

Deb Longchamps invited members to donate themed baskets for the fashion-show raffle, circulated flyers with donation ideas and provided an email contact for drop-off logistics. Sydney Collins described upcoming related fundraisers, including a near‑full golf outing (limited by available carts to 13 foursomes) and an additional October outing.

Club membership coordinator Joan Ford reminded members of new‑member coffees and appealed for volunteers to fill an open vice‑president role for the biennial officer cycle. Stefani summarized a planned Spain trip (Sept. 19–28) organized by Karen Wendell, noting the cost at about $4,023 per person for the air-and-land package and that Karen previously donated $7,000 from a prior trip to the club.
