St. Charles council approves Youth Commission appointment, B1 liquor license and minor PUD change

The council approved Mayor Clenhol’s recommendation to appoint Rebecca Cohen to the Youth Commission after the chair described Cohen’s budgeting and nonprofit experience and her volunteer work with Big Brothers Big Sisters and Ronald McDonald House. The motion to confirm Cohen was moved and seconded and carried by roll call.
The council also voted to recommend a B1 liquor license for Rosebud Steakhouse, a new restaurant at Fox Haven Square. A city official told the council that Rosebud operates several other locations in Illinois, Indiana and Texas and that the Liquor Commission had given the application unanimous favorable action. A council member welcomed the new business in Ward 2; the full council then approved the license by roll call.
On land use, the council approved an ordinance granting a minor change to the PUD preliminary plan for the River 501 Row Homes Brownstone PUD. The motion was moved by Weber and seconded by Besner and passed in a roll-call vote that recorded at least two no votes (Petrillo and Wardlaw) while other named members voted yes. The chair said, "That motion passes." The ordinance approval was recorded on the meeting roll call.
