Supervisors approve $17,300 Silent Messenger board and hear road-season prep report

Lynn Township supervisors voted unanimously on Nov. 14 to purchase a Silent Messenger message board from Established Traffic Control (ETC) for $17,300, to be paid from the COVID fund.
Road Master Matt Henderson delivered a comprehensive report on October work, including mowing, flagger training, tree trimming, cold patching and use of millings at Leaser and Springhouse. Henderson listed November tasks such as installing plows and spreaders, filling potholes on dirt roads, cleaning pipes and ditches, and additional tree trimming.
Supervisors authorized Henderson to obtain quotes for snow guards on township buildings and approved the sign purchase (motion by Ronald Jerdon, seconded by Frederick Najarian). Henderson also reported that he and staff completed required training and that new meeting-room chairs were purchased.
The board recorded the road crews support for county efforts (removal of a tree at the park manhole) and work to reinforce the foundation of Ross Valley bridge.
The township will proceed with sign procurement and follow up on snow-guard quotes before winter operations escalate.
