Katie said Resolution 21 covers three donations totaling $14,881.55 for wind turbines and hummingbird kits to support the middle school STEAM program. She said the foundation will provide TranslateLive tablets at each school to help parents and staff communicate with English-language learners through two'way translation tablets, and that the foundation's giving also covered robotics support, a Newark Museum field trip for fifth graders, theater video equipment for Central Middle School and school supply kits for families in need.
"Including those donations, we donated approximately 24 to $25,000," Katie said. She described the foundation's goal of spending the money it raises on direct student supports and asked families and local businesses to consider sponsorships to help future efforts.
Board members thanked the foundation and noted the TranslateLive tablets and sensory-inclusive STEAM materials as steps to improve accessibility and engagement across the district.
