At its Aug. 21 meeting the Lopatcong Township Board of Education approved personnel and operational resolutions covering stipend positions, resignations, substitutes, reassignments and new hires for the 2025–26 school year.
Stipends and personnel: The board approved stipend positions for extracurricular roles (listed at $783.00 per stipend) including student council, special Olympics, yearbook, instrumental and choral music, drama clubs, National Junior Honor Society and morning monitors. The board accepted resignations from Autumn Weidlick (paraprofessional, effective Aug. 1, 2025) and Melissa Allen‑Wiltsey (special-education teacher, effective July 29, 2025). The board approved ESY substitutes and retroactive appointments and approved new hires contingent on completion of required paperwork; among the hires listed was Alexandra Pierson as a special-education teacher (start effective July 1, 2025, Step 4 salary $62,296.00 as listed in the minutes).
Operations and providers: The board approved R-019-26 contracting Preschool Expansion Program providers Busy Bees and Kiddie Academy for the 2025–26 school year and accepted the September volunteer list and multiple facility-use requests (contingent on required paperwork). The board also approved submission of annual bathroom waivers for specified elementary-school rooms to the Executive County Superintendent and adopted District and Board Goals for 2025–26.
Policy actions: The board approved first readings of multiple policies and regulations (including Internal Controls, Budget Preparation and SEMI program items) and second readings of policies such as Attendance Areas and others.
