Washington Park reviews grants, wastewater project status and trash-truck options; routine financial reports approved

Clerk April S. Alligood reported RK&K had completed a property survey for the Resilient Coastal Communities Program Phase 3 (living shoreline) and submitted an invoice for $3,838.23 that was paid and submitted for reimbursement. Attendees said the stop-work order on the Closing America's Wastewater Access Gap (CAWAG) wastewater analysis has been lifted, with a meeting date pending. The Board also noted an invitation to apply for a BRIC (Building Resilient Infrastructure in Communities) Stormwater Action Plan; the draft application is due March 21 and the final application is due April 9.
Mayor pro tem Jeff Peacock reported procurement research for a replacement trash truck, citing a new-truck quote for $187,491 and a used 10-year-old truck with about 150,000 miles priced at $90,000. The Board discussed alternative solutions including a tow-behind unit or a truck-bed option that would require a 1-ton pickup; Peacock said he will continue researching options.
Commissioner Wade Dale moved to approve the February minutes and Commissioner Lee Bowen seconded; Mayor pro tem Jeff Peacock moved to approve the financial report and Commissioner Bowen seconded; both motions passed unanimously.
The Board also discussed gravel for the back parking lot with quotes between $6,000 and $8,000 and asked contractor Stuart Dudley to price loads so staff can spread material if authorized in future actions.
