The River Ridge Community Development District Board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1, term expires Nov. 2026) at its Aug. 27 meeting.
Mrs. Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter and explained that because this is an appointment to fill an unexpired term rather than an electoral vacancy, staff will publicize the vacancy to residents. The Board reached consensus to ask Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA Manager to e-blast residents with candidate qualification requirements and request resumes or letters of interest before the next meeting. Items related to administering the oath of office, required ethics training and filing obligations for any future appointee were included in materials but deferred to a later meeting.
On motion by Mr. Blumenthal, seconded by Mr. Twombly, the Board accepted Mr. Gilman’s resignation with all in favor. The Board will consider submitted candidates and appoint someone to fill the unexpired term.
