The Joint Committee of the Whole on April 28 approved several routine items and recorded personnel updates from the Police Chief.
Alderperson VanderHeiden moved and Alderperson Gerbers seconded a recommendation to approve an amendment to the Baseball Field Use Agreement to add a cost-share option for a scoreboard sign; the motion carried. The Administrator said the Seymour Baseball Association would seek business donations when a new scoreboard is needed.
Alderperson Gerbers moved (second by Alderperson Krull) to recommend canceling the May 26 Common Council meeting because of Memorial Day; motion carried. Gerbers also moved (second VanderHeiden) to recommend approving an amplify-device permit for the Mackville Nationals Truck and Tractor Pull, and the committee recommended approval. The committee reviewed and recommended approval of a certified survey map (CSM) submitted by Modern Properties for parcel 340114203 (motion by Alderperson Gerbers, second by Alderperson Krull); motion carried.
Police Department updates: the Police Chief reported that Officer Murphy resigned effective April 25, 2025, and Officer Boldus resigned effective April 28, 2025. The minutes record that Officer Krull started full time on April 28, 2025 and that the department is working to staff a full-time vacancy in the next month.
The meeting concluded when Alderperson Gerbers moved to adjourn; Alderperson VanderHeiden seconded and the motion carried. Clerk-Treasurer Christy Stover is listed in the minutes as the signatory for the record.
