The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors adopted a FY2024–2025 Secondary Roads budget amendment and approved a separate resolution to vacate a portion of Vionna and Dakota Road during its March 24 meeting.
At 9:03 a.m. the board opened and closed a public hearing on the secondary roads budget amendment after County Engineer discussion; no members of the public spoke. The board then adopted Resolution #2025-03-24.1 approving the amendment. The vote on the amendment was recorded as "all voting aye." (County Engineer provided the budget detail to the board during the hearing.)
The board also approved Resolution 2025-03-24 to vacate and close a portion of a Humboldt County secondary road in Lake Township (section 3), describing the road originally established in 1874 as "Vionna and Dakota Road." The resolution states that no objections were received and orders the subject section vacated; it was signed by Chair Rick Pedersen and attested by County Auditor Trish Erickson.
Supervisors also approved several road-related contracts and right-of-way work. The board approved an application allowing MidAmerican to bore a new line on 270th Street in the county right-of-way. For construction contracts, the board awarded BROS(88) on Iowa Avenue to Peterson Contractors Southwest of Humboldt for $149,826.75 and awarded BROS(90) on Texas Avenue to Progressive Structures, LLC for $192,912.00. Each motion passed with all voting aye.
The board approved claims totaling $145,752.53 and drainage payments of $8,500, and instructed the auditor to issue warrants as specified.
The board adjourned at 9:27 a.m.
