The Homeless Advisory Committee of Pittsfield City approved the Jan. 7, 2025 minutes and closed its public-comment period with no speakers at its Feb. 4 remote meeting.
Vice Chair Justine Dodds moved to approve the minutes with an edit; Matthew Buckley seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Chair Kim Borden had opened the meeting at 11:00 a.m. and confirmed a quorum.
During announcements, Erin Forbush noted a social-media post about a soft opening at The First. Forbush said The First is open Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and that the site currently offers public restrooms, showers, laundry and lockers; about 12 people used the space during the initial opening. Eileen Peltier reported that people are moving into First St and that activity at West Housatonic is progressing.
Vice Chair Dodds later moved to adjourn; Patrick Kavey seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
