The Manasquan Board of Education voted Dec. 2 to accept the district’s 2024–25 audit and approved a package of financial reports, purchase orders and bills that included a December bills listing of $2,638,666.43.
Robert A. Hulsart presented the 2024–25 audit during the Committee portion of the meeting; the audit was included in the consent items the board approved later in the evening. Dr. Pete Crawley, the district’s School Business Administrator/Board Secretary, certified that “no line item has been over expended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-16.10(c)3” and requested district taxes of $3,832,528.00 to meet obligations for the next eight weeks.
The board approved consent items that included Pay Application #5 from Performance Mechanical Corp. for the elementary school boiler replacement in the amount of $11,970.00 and Change Order #006 in the amount of $3,234.14 on an H&S contract. The board also approved the submission of an amendment to the ESEA grant and authorized Hometown Digital Ticketing for online ticketing services.
The board adopted a resolution authorizing the sale of surplus property (listed as a golf cart, two trailers and a brush hog) via the GovDeals online auction service pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-36. The motion approving Manasquan/Sending District Items #20–#37 (which encompassed the audit acceptance, pay application, change order and surplus sale) passed on a roll-call vote: Ayes 8; Abstain 1 (Mr. Sorino on Item #26); Absent 3.
The board’s action brings the district’s audited financial statements and routine payment approvals into the public record. Documents referenced in the agenda (audit, pay applications, change orders and bills) were listed as on file with the Business Office.
