Board renews Skyward support agreement and delays migration to cumulative environment until 2028

The South Whidbey School District board approved Memorandum 25-26-40 to renew an interlocal agreement with the Northwest Regional Data Center (NWRDC) for Skyward support and professional services.
Dr. Clifford, superintendent, explained the renewal is an annual contract for the district's student information system and that the district plans to delay migration to the NWRDC's cumulative environment until the summer of 2028 so staff are not burdened by a major IT migration while the district is also managing building construction. "We'll be migrating there... summer of 2028," she said, noting the later date gives the district time to manage both construction and the system transition.
Board members asked whether there were any material changes in the contract; Dr. Clifford said there were no substantial changes from the prior year. The memorandum passed on voice vote; the student representative cast an advisory aye.
What happens next: Staff will continue to coordinate with NWRDC on the migration timeline and finalize contract documentation.
