The City of Victoria Planning Commission voted to recommend that City Council approve a backlit halo design sign for Victoria Orthodontics at 79 Rose Street (the Row Row Building).
Associate Planner Travis Brierley told commissioners the proposed sign meets the city's dimensional standards for signs in the Central Business District and that the application included conditions similar to those approved recently for other businesses. "It meets all interdimensional standards that we require with inside the city code," he said.
The applicant did not appear. The chair opened the public hearing and, after no comments, closed it. A commissioner moved to recommend approval to council; another seconded and the motion carried by voice vote.
The recommendation will proceed to the City Council, where staff said the 60-day review period applies.
