Sanbornton trustees accept donated cemetery plot to reserve for residents in need

SANBORNTON, N.H. — The Sanbornton Cemetery Trustees voted March 18 to accept a donated full-body burial plot to be reserved for town residents in need.
Brendan Morrison, chair of the trustees, reported an online message from Susan Kaminski indicating she no longer needs her full-body plot in Section A, Plot 91, because she plans to be cremated elsewhere. Secretary Karey Caldwell moved to accept the plot as a donation for Sanbornton residents in need; Trustee Phil Turner seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Morrison said he will contact Kaminski to confirm the trustees’ decision and next steps for formally recording the donation. The trustees did not specify any additional eligibility criteria for recipients during the meeting.
The trustees also confirmed an established public-comment approach: public remarks will be heard immediately after the meeting opens and not during other agenda items. The board’s next meeting is scheduled for May 20 at 3 p.m. at the Sanbornton Public Library.
