The Human Services Advisory Council of the City of Pittsfield convened remotely on Jan. 29, 2026. Chair Rosalind Kopfstein called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m., noted audio and video recording and confirmed a quorum.
The council received presentations from Berkshire County Kids’ Place (Heather Williamson), Berkshire County HeadStart (Maggie Steele and Hunter McCormick), Roots Rising (Jess Vecchia) and Rights Of Passage & Empowerment (Shirley Edgerton and Johnyce Lanphear‑Dyer). Topics included forensic interviewing and family advocacy, HeadStart’s local reach and funding pressures, Roots Rising’s new facility and 2027 apprenticeship plan, and a mentoring program serving about 18–20 girls.
Member Lindsay Codwise moved to adjourn the meeting; Patricia Molina seconded the motion. The motion was recorded in the minutes and the meeting was adjourned. Meeting materials were submitted as Attachments A and B.
