Sanbornton Selectboard confirms leadership, appoints members and approves bond, budget tweaks and equipment purchases

The Sanbornton Selectboard reorganized its leadership and approved a slate of appointments and financial actions at its March 25 meeting.
Selectman Ralph Carter moved to nominate Brandon Deacon as chair, Mark Brown as vice chair and Ralph Carter as clerk; the motion was seconded by Mark Brown and passed unanimously. The board also reassigned liaison duties formerly held by Glenn Frederick, designating Selectman Brown as the liaison to the Budget Committee, CIP, Cemetery, Fire Department and Police Department; Selectman Deacon volunteered to be the board's representative to the Planning Board.
The board unanimously appointed Sandi Gilbert and Caitlin Corbett as alternates to the Library Trustees (terms to expire 2027) and approved a slate of Zoning Board of Adjustment appointments and Conservation Commission members with staggered terms. Kerri Frederico was appointed to the Recreation Commission with a term expiring in 2029.
On financial items, the board accepted Performance Bond #CMS0636649 between TowerCo VI LLC and RLI Insurance Company for $10,000, as documented Feb. 23, 2026, a bond the Planning Board had determined appropriate for potential tower removal costs. The Selectboard also approved an amended MS-232 report reflecting Town Meeting–approved additions to the Highway Department budget, bringing line 4312 to $1,173,983. The board allocated a $35,000 operating increase across Highway line items: sand to $37,000, salt to $120,000, hired equipment/trucking to $40,000 and diesel fuel to $60,000.
For facility audio, the board authorized purchasing two Bose S1 Pro portable speakers at $699 each from the Town Hall Repair/Restoration Capital Reserve Fund to improve meeting sound. The motion passed unanimously. The board also approved personnel action forms for two part-time Summer Day Camp employees—Dante Gentile and Aaron Sanborn—at $15.62 per hour, and approved the March 4, 2026 meeting minutes with corrections on a 2-0-1 vote with Selectman Brown recorded as abstaining.
The meeting adjourned at 7:42 p.m.; the next meeting is scheduled for April 8 at 5 p.m.
