Mantua Township board approves large slate of personnel actions, summer staffing and adopts policies in roll-call vote

The Mantua Township Board of Education approved a broad package of Governance and Human Resources actions on March 10, passing items 1–14 by roll-call vote 7–0. Mrs. Gregg moved the package; Mr. Wilkinson seconded.
The approved slate included multiple appointments across paraprofessional, LPC aide, substitute teacher and summer positions with specified hourly rates; the board approved summer camp instructors and full- and half-day counselors at listed hourly rates, and designated Extended School Year and Child Study Team summer staff at the negotiated rate of $43 per hour for many roles. The meeting record shows one retirement: Elizabeth Faust, Sewell School Special Education Teacher, effective June 30, 2025. One employee termination (Employee #2060, Centre City School paraprofessional) was recorded with effective date March 10, 2025.
The board also approved first readings of Policy 5111 (Eligibility of Resident/Nonresident Students) and Policy 5112 (Entrance Age), and adopted on second reading Policy 5516 (Use of Electronic Communication Devices), Policy 5533 (Student Smoking) and Policy 7441 (Electronic Surveillance in School Buildings and On School Grounds) along with associated regulations.
The roll-call vote in favor was recorded as: Mr. Wilkinson, Mrs. Gregg, Mr. Grant, Mrs. DiAntonio, Dr. Carvalho, Mr. Bruner and Ms. Leach (7 yes, 0 no, 0 abstain). Items were moved as one package by Mrs. Gregg and seconded by Mr. Wilkinson.
Many personnel actions list specific hourly rates and step placements; the district record supplied detailed names and rates for summer and ESY staffing. The board did not discuss individual personnel decisions on the record beyond listing the appointments and rates.
