Mantua Township board approves multiple substitute hires, replacements and leaves

The Mantua Township School District Board approved Human Resources items during its Oct. 7 meeting, including appointment of substitute teachers and aides for the 2024–25 school year and multiple temporary replacement assignments.
New substitute teacher appointments include David Brant, Kristi Kiernan, Kamryn Shapley, Linda Napier, Stephanie Lento and Sharyn Minor at $110 per day. Substitute and replacement aide appointments include Sofia Roccato, Madelyn Randon, Avery Watson, Breanna Beecher, Joanne Dorofy and Melissa Swanger at $15.13 per hour where noted.
The board approved longer temporary assignments: Lisa Houck was appointed Replacement Preschool Relief Teacher at Evergreen (effective Oct. 8, 2024–Mar. 28, 2025) at $110/day for the first 20 days and $304.81/day thereafter; Patricia Charles was reassigned from LPC Aide to Replacement Paraprofessional at Evergreen (effective Oct. 8, 2024) at $16.81/hour, Step 1A. Several other paraprofessional and CCP staff assignments were included in the HR packet.
The board also approved medical leaves of absence for three employees: employee #1886 (effective Oct. 11, approximately 6–8 weeks, using accumulated sick days and leave without pay), employee #286 (effective Sept. 3, approximately 12 weeks, using accumulated sick days), and employee #80 (effective Oct. 10, approximately 6–8 weeks, using accumulated sick days). The board named teachers for the Child Care Program's after-school clubs at $43 per hour.
Mrs. Gregg moved to approve Human Resources items 1–5; Ms. Leach seconded. A roll call recorded 7 yes, 0 no, 0 abstain; the motion was approved.
