Board signs off on HIB report, NJQSAC plan, Trunk or Treat partnership and multiple field trips

The Mantua Township School District Board approved the monthly HIB report, submission of the 2023–24 HIB self-assessment, the District Improvement Plan for NJQSAC instruction indicator, participation in a Trunk or Treat event Oct. 19 and a CAP Bullying Prevention Program grant, plus several field trips and two McKinney‑Vento tuition contracts.
The Mantua Township School District Board on Oct. 7 approved several education-related items recommended by the Education Committee. The board accepted the monthly Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying (HIB) report and authorized submission of the 2023–24 School Self-Assessment for Determining Grades under the Anti‑Bullying Bill of Rights Act to the New Jersey Department of Education.
The board also approved the District Improvement Plan for the Instruction and Program indicator of NJQSAC and approved the district's participation in a Trunk or Treat event at Chestnut Branch Park on Oct. 19, 2024; the district's Early Childhood Advisory Council will partner with the Mantua Township Fire Department for that event. The CAP Bullying Prevention Program grant for 2024–25 was approved as recommended in the packet.
Two McKinney‑Vento receiving student tuition contracts from Gloucester Township were noted for SY24/25 (student #5008942303 and #4820408770). The board approved the CCP Parent Handbook for 2024–25 and a slate of field trips: JMT School Winter Band & Choir daytime concert (1st–3rd grades); James G. Atkinson Park (kindergarten); The Little Gym (preschool); Camden Aquarium (grade 2); Delaware Children's Museum (grade 1); and Delaware Museum of Nature and Science (grade 3).
Mrs. DiAntonio moved to approve Education Committee items 2–9; Mrs. Pedersen seconded. The motion was approved unanimously.
