The Town of Yadkinville Tourism Development Authority reviewed its financial position at a Jan. 13 meeting, where Finance Director Hunter Gooden reported the TDA has roughly $22,000 in its checking account and about $130,000 in an investment account and said occupancy tax collections may exceed the amount budgeted for the year.
Gooden also told the board that interest rates are declining and asked whether the TDA should consider budget changes for the upcoming fiscal year. He said the Town will assume responsibility for downtown Wi‑Fi and the municipal website’s expenses, a move the board discussed as freeing TDA resources to concentrate on events and visitor programming.
Board members discussed how shifting those operational costs to the Town could change the TDA’s funding priorities next fiscal year but made no formal budget decisions at the meeting. The board approved the minutes from its Oct. 14, 2026 meeting by unanimous vote earlier in the session.
The TDA did not adopt a new budget or motion related to reallocating funds at the Jan. 13 meeting; staff were asked to continue planning and to bring any recommended budget changes to a future meeting.
