Residents press board on bathroom repairs and survey transparency; departing member honored

At the public-comment portion of the Medford Lakes Board of Education meeting on Dec. 20, several residents raised facilities and transparency concerns.
Bridgette Reilly asked whether there is a place to review policy changes before and after approval. Jen Lucania said the APR bathrooms remain in poor condition, asserting only one of five bathrooms is functional and urging the district to provide clean, safe, operational facilities. Ben Wilson asked whether results of the PASS (Pupil Attitude to Self & School) survey would be shared with the public. Pilar Prassas and others thanked Superintendent Dr. Anthony Dent for meeting with the community group Humans for Humans to discuss staff training resources.
Board member Robert Brittain addressed the audience, reflected on his service and thanked colleagues; Board President Kim Bezanis presented him with a gift and public thanks for his years of service. The minutes note that the board will not answer questions during public comment but that Dr. Dent may be contacted directly for follow-up.
