The Brookfield Selectboard on Tuesday appointed Brian Robichaux as an alternate member of the Heritage Commission, accepted an anonymous $1,010 donation for a flagpole at the Hackett site and approved $25,126.50 in town bills.
Bob Serrazi, chairman of the Heritage Commission, told the board that the commission voted June 17 to recommend Brian Robichaux as an alternate member whose term would expire in 2027. The board moved to appoint Robichaux and approved the appointment in a voice vote.
The treasurer reported receipt of an anonymous donation earmarked for a flagpole at the Hackett site. The board moved to accept the gift and directed the treasurer to deposit the funds into the Heritage account for that purpose. “I will deposit it as a heritage account,” the treasurer said after the motion passed.
During the meeting the treasurer also presented payroll and vendor invoices totaling $25,126.50. After a review, the board voted to pay the listed bills, which included payroll, fuel taxes and vendor invoices for cemetery mowing, mapping services and audit fees.
The board approved the public and nonpublic minutes from the June 25 meeting by motion, with no discussion. The transcript shows at least two affirmative responses and one abstention; exact named attributions in the record are unclear.
The board scheduled further administrative items, including a public working session next Tuesday to review a set of old ordinances found in town records and decide whether to rescind, reestablish by vote, or update them.
