The Maywood Board of Education on Nov. 20 approved a $24,576 change order and authorized a $510,158.60 payment tied to the ongoing Memorial School addition. The change order, labeled CO #2, covers removal and disposal of unanticipated bedrock at the project detention site and increases the contract sum to $3,882,000.
Both items were included in the consent block of motions the board approved unanimously. The block motion was moved by Mr. Taylor and seconded by Mr. Bendezu; the consent package passed 7–0. LAN Associates reviewed and verified the necessity of the change and the conformity of Payment Application #9 with the level of work completed.
The change order was submitted by Daskall LLC, the construction contractor for the Memorial School addition. The payment application will be made from the district’s referendum account, as recorded in the meeting minutes.
The approvals do not alter the board’s previously authorized referendum funding; the change order amount and the payment application together represent incremental adjustments to the ongoing contract and periodic contractor payments. The board did not record additional discussion or dissent on these items in the minutes.
