At its Sept. 8 meeting the Thorp City Council adopted an ordinance addressing unlawful telephone use and took several administrative actions including a website domain change and a Police Department equipment purchase.
On a motion by Alderperson Abramczak, seconded by Alderperson Enkers, the council approved Ordinance 2025-09-01 amending Title 10-2-5 of the City Code regarding unlawful telephone use; the change addresses primarily misdialed 911 calls. The ordinance passed 3–0.
The council also approved changing the city website domain from .com to .gov on a motion by Alderperson Abramczak, seconded by Alderperson Enkers; that motion passed 3–0.
Police Chief Pries requested purchase of a printer from EO Johnson at a cost of $2,020 plus a $60 quarterly service fee. The council approved the purchase on a motion by Alderperson Rosemeyer, seconded by Alderperson Abramczak; the motion carried 3–0.
All three items were approved without extended debate and will be implemented through routine administrative processes. The council did not record additional budget amendments beyond authorization of the purchases and domain change.
