Superintendent Michael Jordan told the Maywood Board of Education on Feb. 19 that the district’s Quality Single Accountability Continuum (QSAC) on-site review on Feb. 11 went well and that the district has been notified informally of a high-performing status. The county superintendent, Patrick Fletcher, visited district buildings for a buildings & grounds site review, and Mr. Jordan said the State’s formal QSAC report will be issued this summer.
Mr. Jordan provided a status update on referendum-funded construction: Memorial School (MEM) and MAS fire systems are completed and online; MAS roofing is completed except for rooftop HVAC work; MAS STEM spaces are awaiting furniture with deliveries expected by the end of March; MEM roofing is ongoing and the MEM addition remains under construction with an anticipated opening in September 2025. The MEM HVAC contract bid was awarded, and a payment application for the MEM addition was approved by the board as part of the meeting’s consent items.
Mr. Jordan also said the district completed its annual revision of the memorandum of understanding with the Maywood Police Department; Chief Kenny signed the revised MOU, and the documents were submitted to the County for processing.
The minutes note that the district was informed of its preliminary QSAC status but that the State’s official report will be released later in the year.
