At its Feb. 19 meeting the Maywood Board of Education approved a block motion to accept a series of routine financial and personnel actions, including a $141,972.60 payment from the district’s referendum account to Daskall LLC for work on the Memorial School addition.
President Taylor moved the block approval, and Ms. Soriano seconded; the motion passed on a 7–0 roll-call vote with zero abstentions. The block vote bundled dozens of agenda items listed on the February 19 agenda, which the board said would be considered as a group unless a member requested exceptions.
Among the items approved was Payment Application #12 to Daskall LLC for $141,972.60; LAN Associates reviewed the application and found it consistent with the level of work completed to date. The board also approved payroll for January, with a total payroll expense of $1,206,423.94 (Fund 10: $1,115,490.87; Fund 20: $6,223.20; plus listed employer and state payroll taxes and board DCRP contributions). Cafeteria bills of $20,945.92 were approved as part of the check run.
On personnel matters the board approved a change of placement for a Grade 7 student (student CD) to Holmstead School in Ridgewood with a prorated tuition cost of $31,992.30 and Region V transportation for Feb. 4–June 20, 2025. The board also approved multiple leaves of absence, the appointment of Dimelza Pardo as a paraprofessional leave replacement effective March 10 through the end of the school year, and the appointment of Dana Roman as district LDTC at MA+15, Step 10, with an annual salary of $72,111 pro-rated to an April 7 start date pending clearance.
The board approved routine financial reports, transfers and certifications required by New Jersey administrative code and statute, as summarized on the agenda. The meeting minutes show no separate objections to any bundled item and record that no motions were tabled or excepted for separate votes.
The board also approved the disposal of computer equipment listed as having no fair market value.
