On Monday night the Borough Council of Merchantville approved several consent resolutions and financial actions.
On a motion by Councilmember Anthony Perno with a second from Eric Benjamin, Council approved R25-20 to award Bid B-11-2024 for sodium chloride and pretreated liquid enhanced sodium chloride to Morton Salt, Inc., using unit prices listed under the Camden County cooperative pricing system ($79.85 per ton for sodium chloride; $97.85 per ton for the pretreated liquid). The resolution states the award is contingent on available funding and compliance with NJAC 5:30-5.5(b)(2).
Council also approved R25-21 adopting the revised Borough Employee Handbook and Manual; the Joint Insurance Fund of New Jersey required borough approval for the handbook, which the council made effective Jan. 13, 2025. Later, on a motion from Perno with a second from Sean Fitzgerald, Council adopted R25-22 to accept the Department of Accounts and Auditing report and authorize payment of bills shown in the record, which lists a grand total of $574,084.51 across funds.
The resolutions were adopted by consent and routine motions; no extended debate or roll-call vote totals were recorded in the transcript for the consent items. The meeting concluded with routine announcements and adjournment at 8:00 p.m.
